Each box contains a fixed selection of 228 cards: a 60-card deck plus 168 cards to help build and enhance it. The decks center around Legendary Paradox Pokémon Koraidon, which is included as a new Dragon-type Pokémon ex cards and support the Ancient mechanic. Of the 168 deck building cards, there are 12 Pokémon cards, 38 Trainer cards, and 6 Special Energy cards. Each Starter Deck & Build Set also includes a sheet of damage counters and status markers, a unique coin, a VSTAR marker, a playmat, a player's guide, and a card with deck modification tips.
All cards that debuted in these products were localized and released in the Temporal Forces expansion.
